These are certainly trying times. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected us all in one form or another. To prevent the spread of the virus, Americans and people across the globe are altering the way they travel and interact with others for the foreseeable future. This has resulted in social distancing, stocking up on resources and looming anxiety, disruptions which disproportionately affect poor communities. But we are not without hope.
Our mission here at Hope For Appalachia remains the same. We will continue loving and caring for men, women and children in our community who are affected by addiction because the vulnerable among us need the mercy, love and hope of Jesus Christ now more than ever.In light of these circumstances, we must acknowledge that we are not medical experts and encourage anyone looking for information about protecting themselves during the COVID-19 pandemic to consult the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention or the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources.
While we do not have all the answers, we know that we have been blessed with resources for such a time as this. And because we know that God has never, and will never, stop providing for the needs of his people, we will continue serving the men in our Transitional Living Program and connecting families to resources in the community through our Children’s Resource Center.
